I was asked by my community education program to teach several classes for them this Summer and Fall. So, I am going to have to put my personal art work on hold for a while and focus on lesson plans and samples. I am teaching Beginning Sewing, Creative Stitchery, Knitting 101, Fair Isle Socks and Designer Handbags. I will post pictures of what I create for these classes as they get done.

My Felting Weekend

What a fabulous weekend I had making felt. All of the wool in these pieces is hand dyed merino roving, using WashFast Acid Dyes. Most of the pieces have accents of either a Tencel/wool roving or 100% Tencel roving that were also hand dyed. What you see here is the beginning of a small body of work that will have stitching/embellishment on it, to complete each piece. I plan to use a variety of DMC floss (cotton and linen), as well as some of my own hand dyed yarns. I will focus on the continuation of my "bird/nest/egg" theme in each one. Please visit often, as I show these in progress.

Keeper of the Nest

I am starting a new body of work that deals with my passion of birds. Here is my first collage. The stamp is one of Catherine Moore's. I also tried some new spray from Tsukineko that ages the paper. I love it, especially the color Willow!

New Art Quilt

Here is my latest quilt. The background is 100% low water immersion dyed cotton. I put fusible on the back of the yardage and randomly cut squares and fused them to the batting. Then I did some free motion quilting of the ground and sky areas. Last, I fused my tulips. This is a great piece that will brighten up any day!
